Welcome to Our Parish Community
The Parish of Strait Chedabucto is a Roman Catholic parish located in Chedabucto, Nova Scotia, Canada. Founded in 1833, the parish has a long and rich history serving the local Irish and Scottish Catholic communities in the Chedabucto Bay region.
Our Spiritual Home
Our main place of worship is the beautiful St. Patrick's Church, built in 1833 and designated a National Historic Site of Canada. Within our welcoming parish, we celebrate mass and the sacraments, educate and minister to our congregation, and reach out with charity to those in need.
St. Patrick's Church - A National Historic Site since 1833
Led by our Pastor, Father Gerard MacDonald, our devoted community comes together in faith and fellowship. We invite all to join us at Mass or any of parish activities that nurture spirituality, spark friendships, and buoy Catholic traditions grounded centuries ago yet still relevant today.
Community Outreach
Beyond our vibrant spiritual home, we give back to our beloved coastal area through outreach efforts. Fundraisers, food drives and volunteer work power our philanthropic work. We take Christ's message to heart - when one of us needs help, we lend a hand; when a neighbor is struggling, we offer compassion.
